Los Angeles

This was such a great activity because it was truly a community coming together. Each group was simply a gathering of friends and neighbors. No official board members or dues or rule books. Everyone came together to do good for no other reason than each person saw a need and wanted to help.

Los Angeles Do Gooders volunteered at Westside Global Awareness Magnet School
in Marina del Rey. Once there, they teamed up with approximately 25 Westside Global Awareness Magnet School students and 25 members of The Joyful Activist, a L.A.-based group that promotes community building. Volunteers painted a mural and built a 70-foot-long raised planting bed to be used to plant fruit trees. They also killed it on the kickball court.
