Son of A Saint

MISSION
Do Gooders in New Orleans volunteered with Son of a Saint (www.sonofasaint.org), a local nonprofit that works to make sure boys in New Orleans age 10-13 have strong male role models in their lives. Sonny Lee, the organization’s founder, started the nonprofit three months ago.

ACTIVITY 
Do Gooders played kickball, basketball and football with 70 boys. As they played, volunteers worked to incorporate important life lessons into the games. They discussed the value of handwork and teamwork, staying in school and being a good person. All the boys who participated in the program do not have a father, or their father is absent from their lives.
